When it is in the driver's side hole (opposite the hole pictured) it is an open circuit in N, and a closed circuit (light bulb on) in 4Lo, 2Hi, and 4Hi.

When it is in the passenger's side hole (as pictured) it is an open circuit in 4Lo, and a closed circuit (light bulb on) in N, 2Hi, and 4Hi.

In other words I think there is no way to differentiate between 2Hi and 4Hi.

I give up unless somebody can point out something I've missed.

Anybody else try this and get it to work?

I used a thin homemade gasket with this test. I wonder if a spacer would make any difference?
