So, last fall I picked up a center console at a swap meet for pennies, considering what people sell these things for one here. Believe me, the console is in rough shape and will need further plastic repair, so don't rip me up for partially destroying a center console and reconfiguring it they way I want it
at least I didn't attach a CB to it or an equalizer like back in the day! Here is what it looked like when I purchased it. What you can't see in these pictures is that the lid is just sitting on the console, there was really no way of attaching the lid because the area on the upper console that attaches the hinge the upper console was totally broken off, almost unrepairable.
