Here's a picture of some parts I grabbed at the local junkyard. The length of the channel shaped braces varied depending if the truck was a 1/2 or 3/4 ton. If I remember the longer one was from a 3/4 ton.
The longer brace was used on the Delco booster and the shorter one on the Bendix booster from what I have seen. The Delco unit is much thicker than the Bendix version so the longer channel brace is needed since it comes from in front of the booster.

They may have used the Delco booster on the 3/4-ton and the Bendix on the 1/2-ton. I don't know for sure but it makes sense.

With all the parts swapping that goes on in the life of these rigs you can't really go by what is on them when you find them so who knows maybe it was an early model to later design thing or a combination of the two.
