In my humble opinion the best place to start is find yourself a late 70's early 80's v-8 camaro and take the front subframe out and have it welded into the frame on your truck. ( not a job for an amatuer ) This gives you front disk brakes, power steering, V-8 motor mounts and lowered suspension all in one package. after that get the front clip redone and go from there.
