I kind of suspected the tv setting for the Trans as a big portion of the problem, even though I set it as directed. I had a Trans shop reset it with the pressure gauge hooked up, they even had a hard time he said. It made a huge difference, firmer shifts, better response. It still falls off a bit after 3rd but no rediculous. Testing passing gear I found a new problem, I got in it in 3rd downshift was fine up shift seemed pretty hard then the truck started bouncing. It was like driving over a washboard at 40mph, almost like there were no shocks in the front. I'm really hoping it's not a torque converter issue, I'd think that would be more of a jitter. I stopped to inspect it and didn't see anything, it hasn't done it again but I haven't gotten into it either since.
