If u bondo over paint u will leave an edge on ur bondo were it goes ontop of the paint. If u want to do it right don't bondo over paint. U can use a piece of copper pipe and hammer one end down flat and hold it up against the back side of the panel were ur welding and it will give a backer and the weld won't stick to the copper.
