Don't drill holes in your trim. I just got back from the c10s in the park show and saw beautifully restored trucks with new trim installed that had holes drilled to mount trim. Basically the ends of the trim are hard mounted with either screws or speednuts and studs. The center pieces are double sided tape. I feel if you use 3M tape and the paint is fully cured with all of the solvents out of it, you should be good for a whole lot of years
