Did the slider part inside the switch, which receives the shaft (giggity), get pushed down to the "off" position?

I accidentally pushed mine down when trying to reinsert the shaft/knob and couldn't get it to seat or stay put.

I ended up prying the switch housing open and moving the slider thing back up to the "on" position, put back together, held the lock button in, and the shaft dropped right in like it should have.
