I got the steering gearbox mounted in the Tahoe and took it for a short drive this evening. It runs great and has very good oil pressure. The four wheel drive and transmission seem to operate properly as well. Not a bad deal for what I paid for the Tahoe.
Thanks for the compliments on the brush guard. I haven't decided if it will stay or not but I have some time before I come to that bridge.
