I called a friend of mine who was at one time a case mechanic, and he said those backhoes where bad to burn the fan switch and melt the wires at the connectors . It was usually in the wiring that ran up the cab post. The fan motors draws to much amperage for the wiring ,which also would causes problems with the wiring for the lights. It might be a place to start.
