I tried to draw it out but I am no artist. There was a heavy flat strap bolted to each side of the frame then when released the front end would pop up and forward. then the lower part of the strap metal would hit a bolt welded on the frame as a stop. This would get it up and away from the front bumper. Then you could tilt the nose.

I was just thinking that the soft top cover on my Allante works that way. I will take pictures!
