Today, I removed the cowl cover on my 69. The Lisle wiper removal tool works like a champ, and I'd recommend it at the very low price. Actually, the hardest part about removing the cowl cover was figuring out the needlessly complex radio antenna mounting system, but once that was done, no problem.

Cleaned up thoroughly under the panel, lubed the wiper linkage, gave the cowl cover a good waxing, cleaned up and treated the rubber seal that goes between the cowl and the engine hood, then put everything back together.

The reason for doing this was to make sure that there was no accumulations of dead leaves, dirt, and other crud that would hold moisture and promote rusting. Feels good to know that all the metal under there is in really good shape (no rust at all), and that one more little job is done.

Next, vacuum bleeding the brake system, next sunny day.
