Re: throttle linkage on an original Edelbrock Torker intake
I had to replace a throttle cable several years ago and the only one the local Chevy dealer could find was for a 6cyl (which may be the same length as a v8). I have a v8 in the original I6 position and the carb is quite a bit closer. I had to make it do a little curl to shorten it enough to work. It lasted a little over 10 years before it started binding again. Pics would be nice since I can't visualize which way the carb twists.
You might get lucky with a stock cable but Lokar would be the best and probably the best quality. I opted for the AZ special. I think it was spectre too. If you go the cheap AZ route, put a small washer between the cable end and plastic clip at the pedal. It will pull through without reinforcement.
