71-72 4wd's didnt get the "4 wheel drive" emblems but had the engine displacement emblems instead (for Chevy). My original paint 72 k1500 GMC has no emblem below the marker lamp just like this Jimmy - I suspect that's the case for all 71-72 GMCs.

What's on your SPID - was the Jimmy CST equipped? EDIT: I see the custom emblem now.

Here's an original paint 72 example - no engine displacement emblem, it's a CST with "Custom" emblem on the door.
