Since you plan on having the work done by a shop, sticking with the th350 is probably the way to go... unless you own a bunch of oil wells. Converting to the 700r4 is not a simple job, and they are gonna charge some serious money.
I've had, (am still having,) a real good experience with my Goodwrench Crate 350 that went in in 2000. Si, es bueno Mexican motor!
