There is some excellent info online on how to measure driveshaft length. For the most part the shop i used just wanted a measurement from centre to centre of the U joint pivots. Keep in mind the slip yoke should be out 1" from the seal when measuring. That gives some play to move in/out as the suspension is compressed.
