Got this tip from a retired recording engineer on a BMW forum I used to belong to. Originally sold as "Roof Flashing Tape" it is now also marketed for Window and door use. I've seen it with all manner of different backing materials (Foil, paper, tyvek....) if you are into the "look" in addition to the function. Basically it's a thick tape (Like undercarriage coating material) with a release file on both sides.
You peel the release film from one side and stick it in place. Cuts easily with a box cutter and will conform to uneven surfaces. I bought some when replacing the windows in my house and used the left-over in the doors of one of my older cars. Works well. -Steve
