I want to upgrade my 71 4X4 to a 5 speed manual. have read the nv3500 is extremely difficult to rebuild and has been known to have some problems.

Most of the post I read are from guys much more tech savy than I am, and nearly all are dealing with lowered 2wd trucks. I on the other hand have raised my 4wd and have the added issue of a transfercase. Anyone working on a 4wd?
