Back in the mid 70's when the 194 that was in my truck when I bought it for 75.00 and drove it to work the next day gave out due to be worn out we pulled the 283 out of my T bucket,loaded it in the back of the truck, took it to the shop where I worked part time an swapped it in on a Saturday. My buddy built the front mounts and the bracket to space the steering out. That was 40 something years ago when I moved a lot faster than I do now. We unbolted the six from the bellhousing, pulled it and swapped the flywheel and clutch to the 283 and put it right back in the truck. It took longer to unbolt the nose than to swap the engine .
