the rack and pinion doesnt need the pressure of a steering box, so the reducer shim is still what you would need. but I am not sure how the pressure reducer would affect your hydroboost? maybe ask the guys with gm power steering boxes, hydroboost, and rack steering what they did.
I had a truck with waaayy overassisted power steering, you could steer with a pinky. it wasnt a rack, it was an older GM steering box with a newer GM steering pump, but a shim fixed it.

Im going to check all teh fittings when i get home as well as high/side low side and just the general once over ...... and might buy a PS pressure tester just to see where I am at.
