Some interesting reading at "daniel stern lighting". He gets into the bulbs and i followed his suggestions with cibie's and a shielded low/high bulb and very happy with the results. I did cibie's in the late 70's and knew what i wanted. I e-mailed him with the light beam description of the low beam being wide, lighting both ditches with the hockey stick hook up the passenger's side ditch, and high beam being 2 pencil beams that really lit up the road a long ways away. He supplied me with e code cibie's and believe it or not 55/60 watt shielded bulbs that are fantastic. I told him i ran a 100 watt high beam in the 70's and he was so confident on these 55/60 watt bulbs he said he would refund me if i was disappointed. I did pay near retail but his help was the best and my opinion is my night time vision is well worth a one stop shop with experience.
