matte is not fun, I ended up realizing, seems you get one shot. To me it also looks like some dry or stray overspray landed there on yours giving that rough feel.
Yep, if you are going to shoot a matte, use a basecoat clearcoat with a matte clearcoat, that is the absolute easiest way to pull it off.
