To fit that vette trans in he would have had to install a new front bell housing assembly, new pump, new output shaft and extension housing....

Oh well...the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor ) simply needs either a digital style speedo or a convertor....

Maybe the problem is the trans installed no longer supports the VSS....hence his asking "How do I get a VSS to connect to the tailshaft?)

The VSS plugs into the extension housing and fits close to a reluctor wheel on the outout shaft...
See the attached pic...it shows a 4WD unit, but 2WD unit is similar...
