OE rubber was 275/60-15 on 7" wide SS spec wheels if I recall correctly (or 28" tall).

255/50-18 = 28.03" so that's going to be your height limitation. Fronts will offer less clearance vs. rear so I would look into how much room you have w/an original set-up to help decide.

Some 255/50's on 8" wheels should be a good fit. If there's not enough clearance @ the fender opening, you'll need to go down in sidewall ratio ('45' series vs. '50' series) to get a shorter overall diameter. Backspacing (or offset depending on wheel manufacturer) will also play into what fits & works. It needs to be optimized if @ all possible.

I would do some internet searching for other 454ss trucks & get info on a set-up that is similar to what you visually like & go from there.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
