I my opinion, I'd agree that the 307 is a better motor. But you have a 305 and it's not worth swapping for a 307 even if you could find one. If you're thinking of swapping, just put a 350 in.

There are tons of aftermarket SBC heads that fit, from around $700/pr (GM Performance Vortecs and Summitt brand regular and Vortecs, see the Summitt catalog) on up to "your pocketbook's the limit". Do you want to spend that kind of money on a 305? If you do, get the Vortecs even though you'll have to change the intake manifold.
