I can't imagine why it would be different Mr48. As you stated, cabs are the same.
In one of their catalog descriptions it specifically says "Does not fit 54 or 55.1"

It could simply be an error. I had found an error in there listing for an engine crossmember. It states their engine crossmember CP4810 is for 55-59 in one ad and 47-59 in another.
I'll do as you suggest and call them tomorrow. It would make things a lot easier for me if it does work on a 54.
Thanks for your reply. I know you've got a lot of experience with these trucks and value your opinion. My first go around with anything this old and mine is a bit of a custom since it's to be 4wd with stock frame. Rick
