Re: Piece Painting ??

I always tell myself to stay out of it but I am in my 70s I grew up with lacquer and enamels and now with today’s urethane I have never worked in the body shop only restoration if it is metallic it has to be painted assembled if it is single stage it can be panel painted in either case if you have for wet coats of color there should be no difference in the color of the panels if you’re using quality paint some of these pains have a lot of clear in them four instance PPG single stage concepts black will cover the primer in one coat but SPI black single stage is so translucent that you can still see the primer after the second coat in my opinion if you want it to look like the factory did it with thin and bare spots you can paint it assembled because you will have them or you can panel paint it and know all your parts are fully painted
