No. There are 4x4 shafts which are shorter than 2wd output shafts. Plus I haven’t measured every output shaft out there so I can not say yes to your question One needs to ensure the tail housing matches the length of the 2wd output shaft.
Plus you have company’s out there making special length output shafts like advance adapters For an example, the 700r4 being installed mating up with a np205. The output shaft is shorter than the factory GM 4x4 700r4 output shaft
As far as the output shaft itself, if you look at it from the "Trans case bushing" towards the front planetary they are all the same. From the Trans case bushing area to the other end of the shaft they are different.
