Our Winters can be brutal but they used to be worse 40/50 years ago when all people had were these trucks to drive. If I put 2/300 pounds of ballast in the bed, a block heater and 4 snow tires on it it would probably work for me. Does any one today drive a 67-72 all year around where the Winters are harsh.

That is a pretty nice truck. Around where I live they dump liquid calcium on the roads before a storm so I'd never drive that truck on the roads around here. You can always carry a set of tire chains with you and maybe get the rear snows with studs. Posi-trac would sure help. Back in the day I used to drive a 64 Ford F-100 3-0tt 2wd non posi short bed. It had some very seriously beefy El Dorado snow tires out back and about 400 pounds in the bed. That truck was unstoppable in the snow.
