Matt, I think a supercharged 383 will be way faster than a stock LS, But with a supercharged 383 you will also need your own gas station as it will give you about 8 to 10 MPG, compared to a LS 18-20 MPG so if gas is not the issue and you really like olsdkool motors go with the SC383.
my brother has a 68 C10 with a 383 and it eats gas like a 1968 6 door Cadillac Deville
, But his trucki is really fast, and also depends on tranny and rear gearing set-up.
I like my Vortec Max and will never go back to carburator.
