Re: Anyone have this original in-bed spare tire carrier mounted?

OH I like the sunken deal there. Is that just an upside down wheel tub? My small spare does come up a bit past the bedside. Not real pretty but stuck on the side of the road is uglier.
When I got in an accident and my spare tire was just loose in the back of the Blazer it took out my passenger seat. Luckily no one was sitting there or they would have been hurt. All the crup in the back of the truck was strewn across the highway as I spun to a stop. I no longer carry anything but that spare in the bed of my pickup unless it is strapped down good and have a bed toolbox for my jack and such.
The tire rests on the bed and wheel tub. Not sure it would hold up in an accident.
But it does keep the tire out of the way.
