If you jump the wires at the regulator as shown you don't need to do any jumping at the alt. If you follow the #2 wire from the alt to the reg plug you'll notice that it's jumped to the red wire which goes to the circled area which is your alternator buss or junction connection that is where all you accessories pull power from, so you biggest voltage drop is at that point. The #2 terminal on the alt is the voltage sense wire and running it to the alternator buss connection would maintain peak voltage at that point (where you want it) Some simply jump #2 to the battery post on the back of the alt but that just maintains peak voltage at the alt and not the main splice so it wont perform as well. One of the best features of these alternators is their ability to monitor voltage remotely. HTH
