There are different classes for 2x4 or 4x4 trucks. It's actually possible to get more suspension travel on a more stock 2x. I think a Fabtech lift for 73-87 will work on the 71 to 72 or earlier trucks if you've done a disc brake conversion. You'll have to fab your own lift for the rear if you have a coil spring truck. Leaf springs can just use blocks, add-a-leaves or replacement springs. I think JC whitney has rear coil springs that are 2-4" higher.
