If putting a restriction in your exhaust helps low end torque, your exhaust is oversized!

OP, for the most part it should fit. You might run into issues with front accessory drive clearance, and you'll have to get creative with header/exhaust manifolds. I run an S10 chassis under my '49. With the engine about a 1/2" from the firewall I had just enough room to put an electric fan in front of the engine. This is with the base truck setup on the front, which pushes them out a little further. The 98-02 F-body (and GTO) setup puts everything a touch closer to the engine. Putting the block in there shouldn't be too big of a challenge. My 91 Z28 has a 6.0l LQ9 in place of the L98.
