I installed the Off Road Design version some months back, and so far I've been quite happy with it. I opted to take the extra step and install the new shift rails to allow separate front/rear axle operation, but as I'm not a hard-core rock crawler like some I'm not sure how useful that feature will be to me. I've tried it a few times this winter, and I can imagine scenarios where using only the front axle on slick logging roads could be a benefit, so I guess I'm happy I spent the money.
I also had the luxury of doing everything while the tcase was on the bench. I'm not even sure it's possible to replace the rails while mounted, but if it is it can't be as easy as on the bench. Doing the shifter on the bench really helped set things up for easy re-installation once it was back on the rig. I did spend quite a bit of time messing around with the amount of nut tension on the little heim joints that ORD uses - initial installation was way too loose, then I made them too tight, and seem to have found the happy middle now. I'm going to have to monitor things in the future because now I'm concerned the nylock nuts may back out after all of the messing around.
