Those are great pics. I used to work for Swinerton & Walberg. I worked on a few steel towers, from ground break to top off. It was quite an adventure as a young man. More so than the Army... for me anyway. That's when the iron workers used to climb around like acrobats. My understanding is everyone's on a safety hookup now. I was on the 4th and Hope project in Los Angeles in 1981 when the crane toppled and yanked the construction trailers, used as offices, into the hole 100' down. What a mess! I watched a few people get killed on those jobs. After that crane accident, we cut up all the cable and sold a truck load every night for a couple weeks for beer money until the cable was all hauled off. Tuff hard working men!
