I have had both, and now have a VA monster unit. Light years ahead of the direct fit. A monster unit will heat and cool the whole car, but it uses bigger hoses in the front that uses more of the valuable room there. I never had any luck getting the stock rear unit to work properly.Direct fit is just not big enough for these big cars.
