My temp selector won't go all the way to cold. I have a feeling what you describe is the problem.

Just remove the side cover on the engine side of the
A/c,heat box.Be careful of the 2 studs-they sometimes turn on the inside of the truck.Then there are 6 other bolts holding the side on the box.
When the cover is off,you can carefully remove the evaporator-lines and all in one part.
