You can punch in all you info and see how it effects your rpm, mph, trans, tire etc. I agree with everything above, and although the 350/350 combo is tried & true(& usually cheap) I wouldn't waste the time or money. If you just drive in town or weekends you might be happy but if you plan on cruising over 60mph just get an overdrive and you won't be sorry. The installation is no more difficult than a th350. I have a 350/NV3500(5spd manual) in my 66 C20 with stock 4:56 rear and 31" tires and 80mph is no problem at 2600rpm. In my 58 I have a 350/700R4 and 235/75/25 (27") tires, a stock 3:90 rear and again it purrs along at 80. I drive mine anywhere and everywhere with confidence and decent gas mileage considering. Just do your research, some 700r's are better than others, but I believe you can build them all to be good. You want the 30 spline version. Do it right the first time. That being said, it's your truck and you know how it will be driven so do what works for you. Just my ¢.02.
