I believe there's a number of things that will keep any nasty rust from forming, and allow it to keep looking the same. Several companies make spray waxes, or some call it "detailer" . I don't know how long it would last, wouldn't cost much to try a couple. Zep ,makes a cleaner called, Powerhouse. It cleans and may even protect for a while, great stuff!!!
