Yeah I probably ended up with stock 350 power, but I enjoyed the build, how it wound out, and 13 mpg in a '71 K/20 with 4.57s,37/14.50 rubber, utility bed full of tools, materials in the bed, and ladders/scaffold on the racks. I always wanted to try that motor in a shortbed 2wd.

My father bought a new El Camino in 1968 that had the 307, it was a damn good motor. They were an under square motor, 283 block with a 327 crank which made them quite torquey for a 2 barreled carb engine.
