I'm all for preserving original paint. That said, IMO it appears dry and sorta neglected. Bet you could get the single stage looking healthy w/ minimal effort.

Don't think yours would be too shiny using the aforementioned method. It wouldn't be nothing like when people spray excessive clear coat on faux patina.
