Don't think yours would be too shiny using the aforementioned method. It wouldn't be nothing like when people spray excessive clear coat on faux patina.
Thanks for sharing that link, I haven't seen that method before! I do agree, it looks like a nice way to clean up and revive the original paint without making it too shiny. I think I will give this method a try when I get a chance.
