Can you get the cage nuts separate?. Hard to get to spot.
On my '55 3100 I just reach in and put regular nuts and washers in there. I mount the hinge before I mount the door.

Edit: After thinking about this, you might be talking about the nut that's visible inside the wheelwell. I made my own, like Ogre describes below. It's just a piece of 1/4" bar stock, drilled, tapped and dropped into the existing pocket.
