spark plug deposits
My unknown size sbc has been running poor lots of backfiring and real hard starting so I changed the plugs. All my plugs looked similar orange black color with no heavy deposits except #8 cylinder had a big orange deposit on the end. What is it and what would cause it.

Re: spark plug deposits
If you have an auto trans. with a vacuum modulator, the modulator may be bad letting it suck in trans fluid. The vacuum is hooked up to the runner to #8 cyl. Or the oil drain hole in the cyl. head may be plugged up & oil is building up around #8 valves.
