How are you guys repairing your rusted doors?

Try searching rusty door repair on here haha it turns up everything but repairing cab doors so I thought I would just start a thread. On the bottom side of my doors at the pinch seam its completely rusted through, pulling the exterior side of the door panel outward. should I just cut the cancer out and stitch weld it back with a filler sheet or do they actually make patch panels for this issue?

I used aftermarket full door skins....they are not as heavy gauge steel as the original door skins but are affordable & fairly easy to install.

I did the same. You don't have to use the entire skin, only what is necessary for the repair. I even went ahead with the inner door bottom.

Re: How are you guys repairing your rusted doors?

me being a parts hoarder i cut good metal out of the middle of another rusted out door. then stitched them in. just have to be careful not to warp it, i tack it then hit it with a really wet rag and blow on it with compressed air and have had good results. i learned it from where i work, (I am a mechanic at a restoration shop). I'm always learning new body techniques from the body guys.

The inner door bottom is the issue on mine, both bottoms need to be redone. Do the outside skins include the bottoms or is there just a bottom skin I can buy?

I have some old front fenders I may end up cutting patches from if I don't end up doing the skin... I'll give ur method a try!

You can buy just the inner door bottoms. Got mine from LMC. Brothers has them available as well.
