Axle Spacer Thoughts - Feedback needed
Hello my GM Family and this thread might not go anywhere but had some thoughts this morning and figured I would start with the professionals first.
So my brother recently had his Full Float cut down by 1.5" on his Blazer. As we were looking at axle options I had the random idea of machining a spacer between the axle and hub. The thought is to machine a spacer that will bolt between the axle and the hub and run the factory metal gasket between both, and the obvious longer bolts. Being a full float I think it might work... This is just going to be a driver, nothing crazy or off road stuff. What are your thoughts? Suggestions? Weak points? Talk me out of it! ![]() |

Call Moser axle and get an axle shaft made

Re: Axle Spacer Thoughts - Feedback needed
Those 8 bolts are what turns the tires. I personally wouldn't want about a 3'' bolt with an aluminum spacer taking on that task even though there are 8 of them. I dunno just doesn't sound right the me. Sounds like your looking for a machine shop to a custom one off thing. Nothing stopping you from trying it out though. However a set of studs would clamp down better with less stress on them than a bolt.
What about these: https://www.yukongear.com/shop/ya-gm14t-30-38 |
