BB valve cover decision

My OEM valve covers will not go back on since I have installed these roller rockers (see pic), the exhaust side poly locks are causing a clearance issue.

Has anyone installed a taller valve cover that looks stock appearing?

Any pics?

I guess the poly locks could be machined down for clearance?

Any thoughts or pics?

Dang....you can buy new covers for the price of those spacers! They make stock looking, taller valve covers.

My only concern with spacers, besides looks is you have just one more area that can give you problems since it requires 2 gaskets.

Wondering if anyone makes a short poly lock?

They have to be a certain height in order to work. I certainly would not mess with trying to cut them down. Too easy and the right way to just get different valve covers.

Year One makes a stock style tall chrome valve cover. It's part number NP504T.

Re: BB valve cover decision

I once (for a customer upon request) installed stock covers with 2 gaskets and longer bolts. Didn't look weird at all and that way his valve train, same as yours had clearance. I usually just buy covers, but not everybody wants that, just an idea that worked.

Re: BB valve cover decision

Felpro makes some 5/16 thick gaskets for a SB, may very well make some for the BB also. That may get you enough clearance.
