Re: FLipkit ?

It is a bad idea to reuse U bolts. Cheap insurance to get new ones.

Re: FLipkit ?

Be sure that you tighten them twice once you get new ones. They are prone to settle and stretch. Drive it a bit, and give them a once over and your good.

Re: FLipkit ?

I'm in California, and I did a flip kit last November...My u bolts were re-useable, although I replaced them anyway...probably not a bad idea to use new ones.

Re: FLipkit ?

OK i will do that is there any way to do the flipkit and not remove the leaf springs. Like take the axle out and slide it in over the springs.

Re: FLipkit ?

You can just drop the shackle end, but it will mean more work. You will have to disconnect the E-brake cable, brake line, and pull the D shaft out to slide it back far enough.

It's much simpler to unbolt both ends of the spring and set them aside. Raise the axle and put your springs underneath.
