Shortbed pickup/ disappointing day

Well went and made the hour and a half drive to go pull a 48,000 miles 305 motor that I heard turn over about six months ago. Before we started to pull it my gut told me to try and turn it.....well it was locked up. Good was taken off at some point while it was moved from one lot to the other. Put a battery in it and had good starter power and.l nothing. Put it in first gear while it's wheat box was loaded with scrap iron and pulled it to see if it would turn it...didn't budge. But I did pay $50 and a bent up chrome bumper for this little gem. Nothing to look at, pretty rough, has some rust starting in above the windshield but the motors free and will fire on new gas guess it wasn't all that bad of a day! Now if anyone has a spare 305 V6 laying around, that'd be helpful.

I have a running 305 V6 in a 66 GMC 4000 that I bought for some body parts.

A couple of C notes including gas and the trade for that? Id say you scored! Heck, Id even squirt a little trans fluid in the cylinders and try lighting it off. Who knows? Ive seen engines submerged in a lake only to be drained, lubed and lit. Ya never know. Nothing on that trailer that id be disappointed about. Congrats on saving another one!

Re: Shortbed pickup/ disappointing day

Have an outlet on a couple other motors. Plan on getting the shortbed running and moving around then probably get rid of it. If they run I have a harder time parting them
